The Oral Health Sciences Master's Program (OHS-MS) is a one-year program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry designed to prepare students to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for a competitive dental school application, a competitive application to a PhD training program, or employment in a research laboratory in the field of oral health sciences and craniofacial research.

There are two options course options within the OHS-MS program, a research focused program or a course-intensive program. The research track allows students to select faculty mentors not only among researchers at the School of Dentistry but also across the entire U-M campus, and the course-intensive track is a mix of dental school courses and seminars, along with courses the students choose in other areas of the university, with the research more likely to be literature review rather than focused in a lab.

Ryan Koa and Ritwika Bera are two School of Dentistry students who are graduates of the OHS-MS program and used their experience to help further their current paths.

Ryan is a member of the School of Dentistry Class of 2027 and used the OHS-MS program to discover what conducting research was like and found his passion for dentistry. Ritwika is a PhD student at the School of Dentistry and used the program to further her love of research, using what she learned in the program to continue working in the same lab during her PhD program.
