An unexpected view of Bright Walls

Artists from all over the world flew to Jackson, Michigan for the 2019 Bright Walls festival.

Bright Walls is an annual festival in Jackson where artists paint murals on various downtown buildings.

Murals from artists like Karabo Molestane of Johannesburg, South Africa, George Rose of Melbourne, Australia and Melissa Rose of Jackson, Michigan now cover downtown Jackson building walls.

To showcase the artists and their work, these double-exposure photos show illustrations of portraits of the artists with parts of their work overlaid on top.
